HOUSTON – A woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash earlier today in north Houston after investigators say her vehicle crossed the median into oncoming traffic.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred in the 14700 block of Old Humble Road. A witness told investigators the southbound car was traveling at a high rate of speed when it lost control, crossed the median, and entered the northbound lanes.

A northbound truck struck the car after it crossed into its path. The car then spun out and came to an uncontrolled rest in the roadway.

The driver of the southbound car died from her injuries at the scene. Investigators believe the deceased is a woman, but her identity has not yet been confirmed.

The driver of the truck and the passengers inside the truck were not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
