HOUSTON – A second suspect has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old found in southwest Houston in November 2024, according to the Houston Police Department.
Police said Timmathy Elijah Jones, 21, has been charged with capital murder in the death of Jose Rodriguez. The charge was filed in the 209th Criminal District Court.
A second suspect, Raheim Bushnell Davalos, 21, was previously charged with capital murder in the 182nd Criminal District Court.

According to Houston police, officers responded to the 6900 block of Caddo Lake Lane at about 6:40 p.m. on Nov. 30, 2024, and found Rodriguez unresponsive in the street after he had been shot multiple times. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Investigators determined Rodriguez had met with individuals traveling in a dark-colored SUV. During the encounter, the suspects exited the vehicle and opened fire, striking Rodriguez multiple times. Police said Rodriguez returned fire toward the suspects and their vehicle before collapsing.
Detectives later released a surveillance image of the suspect vehicle in December 2024 as the investigation continued.
Investigators identified Bushnell Davalos as a suspect, and he was charged in April before being arrested by the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force.
Jones was later identified as a second suspect. He was arrested on June 30 and charged with capital murder for his alleged role in the shooting. He was booked into the Harris County Jail.
The investigation by the Houston Police Department remains ongoing.
