HOUSTON – A man has been charged with murder following the fatal shooting of a woman in the 11100 block of Maritime Drive in east Houston.

The victim was identified as Tonya Swink, 41. According to investigators, Swink and the suspect, Cody Prince, 29, were in a dating relationship.

Police allege the couple began arguing and that Swink was threatening to end the relationship when Prince allegedly shot her. Swink was pronounced deceased.

Following the investigation, Prince was charged with murder and booked into the Harris County Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing.
