HOUSTON, Texas – Dr. Matthews joined prominent Houston attorney Tony Buzbee for a wide-ranging conversation on his “Swimming With the Sharks” podcast.

Buzbee introduced Dr. Matthews as a civil and human rights advocate, author and “a voice for the voiceless,” saying he wanted viewers to get to know the person behind the clips frequently seen online.
During the approximately 85-minute interview, Buzbee and Dr. Matthews discuss her background, approach to activism and some of the public disputes that have surrounded her work.
The conversation touches on her involvement in recent consumer complaints involving fast-food restaurants, Harris County courts, protective-order proceedings and other ongoing public disputes. Buzbee also questions Dr. Matthews about her activism and how she decides which battles to take on.
The interview also gives viewers a look at Dr. Matthews outside of her public activism, including her upbringing, family and the influences that helped shape her work.
Dr. Matthews also discusses her book, “Activism 101,” which she describes as a playbook for turning frustration into action.
The full interview is expected to be released soon on Buzbee’s “Swimming With the Sharks” podcast.
