HOUSTON, TX – A 29-year-old man is in critical condition after five masked suspects entered an open garage and gunfire broke out in southeast Houston.

Officers responded around midnight to the 9900 block of Tiltree for a reported shooting. They found the man suffering from gunshot wounds to his neck, arm and side.
Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the man to a hospital in critical condition. He is expected to survive.
The man and his 22-year-old girlfriend were sitting in the open garage having drinks when five masked individuals approached through the side of the yard, moved through the front yard and entered the garage.
The first suspect was armed with a short-barreled rifle and began yelling at the man. The woman ran inside the home, locked herself in another room and hid.
A confrontation and fight occurred inside the garage before gunfire broke out. About 20 or more shots were fired.
Two weapons and numerous shell casings were recovered at the scene.
The five suspects fled on foot following the shooting. Neighbors who heard the commotion came outside and attempted to help.
The investigation remains ongoing.
