Three men injured in overnight shooting on Crane Street

HOUSTON, TX – Three men were hospitalized following a shooting in the 3600 block of Crane Street around 1:15 a.m.

Police say a man in his 40s and a man believed to be about 29 years old were shot in the face. A third man, also in his early 40s, was shot several times in the legs.

Officers found one of the men lying in the street near an overturned vehicle in a ditch. Weapons were found inside that vehicle, while another vehicle contained a large amount of alcohol.

The man shot in the legs told investigators he heard gunfire, stepped out of his vehicle and was shot. He then drove to his brother’s home, and his brother took him to a hospital.

A witness reported seeing a man driving up and down Crane Street, displaying a pistol and “talking trash” to several people shortly before multiple gunshots were heard.

A police helicopter searched for people who may have fled on foot, but no one was found. Several people were questioned, but no suspects were in custody.

Investigators are working to determine what caused the shooting and whether any of the injured men may also be suspects.
