HOUSTON, TX — A man known to panhandle in the area was killed after being struck by a pickup truck in the 7900 block of Corporate Drive, according to the Houston Police Department.

The man had been standing in the roadway for an unknown amount of time when a pickup truck driver turning left from Beechnut Street onto northbound Corporate Drive struck him.

The man, believed to be about 30 years old, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His identity remains unknown.

The driver remained at the scene, showed no signs of impairment and cooperated with investigators. Police said the driver had no known history of reckless driving.
