HOUSTON, Texas — A 14-year-old boy was shot during a robbery in which his scooter was taken at Tidwell Park around 7 p.m. earlier this evening.

Police said the boy was riding his scooter through the park in the 9700 block of Spaulding Street during daylight when three males approached him. The boy was shot once in the upper leg, and his scooter was taken.
Park personnel helped the boy before the Houston Fire Department arrived. He was transported to a hospital in stable condition.
Officers obtained descriptions of the three males and located three people matching those descriptions at an apartment complex east of the park. The three, described as older juveniles or young adults, were carrying handguns and were taken into custody.
The boy’s scooter has not been recovered. Charges are pending further investigation.
Investigators will also determine whether the three males may be connected to other robberies. No other robberies involving them have been reported at this time.
