Chase Layne Patin has been found following an overnight manhunt in connection with last night’s shooting of a Harris County sheriff’s deputy.

According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the deputy responded to a family disturbance call around 6:30 p.m. on Bayou Drive in Channelview.

The deputy was shot in the lower half of his body before Patin stole his patrol vehicle.

That vehicle was later recovered near the East Freeway and the deputy is recovering at a local hospital.
