KATY, TX – Devin Heard is now charged with killing his roommate, 61-year-old Joseph Lemelle Jr., following a shooting yesterday afternoon in the 6400 block of Hayman Drive.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, deputies found EMS personnel performing lifesaving measures on Lemelle. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced deceased from a gunshot wound.

Investigators allege Heard shot Lemelle after an argument escalated. Heard was booked into the Harris County Jail on a murder charge. The investigation remains ongoing.
