Man shot in neck during confrontation on Rippling Fields Drive

HOUSTON, Texas – A 32-year-old man was shot in the back of the neck during a confrontation on Rippling Fields Drive around 10 p.m. last night.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, deputies found the wounded man and he was transported to a local hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition.

Investigators said the man allegedly arrived at the location and began a physical confrontation in the street with several people who were related to one another. The wounded man was not related to the group, but they worked together. An incident earlier in the week reportedly led to the confrontation.

During the fight, one of the family members retrieved a firearm from a vehicle and fired, striking the man.

At least two people involved in the confrontation were detained as persons of interest. Investigators were reviewing video to determine whether charges would be filed.
