HOUSTON, TX (August 7, 2025) – The Houston Independent School District has announced that free breakfast and lunch will continue for nearly all students during the 2025–2026 school year.

According to HISD Nutrition Services, breakfast will be provided at no charge to all students at all schools through the School Breakfast Program (SBP). Additionally, lunch will also be free at all but seven campuses under the National School Lunch Program (NSLP).
Only the following seven schools require families to complete a Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application to determine meal eligibility:
Kinder High School for Performing and Visual Arts Horn Elementary Travis Elementary Oak Forest Elementary River Oaks Elementary West University Elementary Roberts Elementary
Families at these schools can complete the required application online at https://schoolcafe.com/HoustonISD. Printed copies and assistance are available through HISD’s Student Eligibility and Accountability department at (713) 491-5944 or by emailing eligibilityinfo@houstonisd.org.
All other HISD students will continue to receive free breakfast and lunch with no application required.
