Man charged after fatal shooting of woman, wounding of man at Houston home

HOUSTON, TX – Houston police have arrested 54-year-old John Guy Tucker in connection with a deadly shooting that left a woman dead and a man critically injured at a residence on Mount Pleasant Street.

The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. on August 16 at 3804 Mount Pleasant Street. According to the Houston Police Department Homicide Division, officers arrived to find 51-year-old Angela Perry unresponsive in the living room with multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics. A 67-year-old man was also found in a bedroom with multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to a hospital in critical condition.

Investigators identified Tucker as the suspect, and after consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, he was charged on August 21 in the 209th Criminal District Court with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

On September 8, officers with the HPD Downtown Patrol Division arrested Tucker and booked him into the Harris County Jail.
