Suspect arrested after fleeing stolen vehicle involved in school bus hit and run

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A suspect was arrested after reportedly fleeing the scene of a crash involving an Aldine ISD school bus on FM 1960 Bypass Road West.

According to Constable Mark Herman, on September 15, 2025, a deputy with his office responded to the 8500 block of FM 1960 Bypass Road West at Kenswick Drive following a hit-and-run crash involving a Hyundai Sonata and a school bus. The driver of the Sonata fled the scene.

The deputy later located the suspect vehicle abandoned at Jesse Jones Park. Investigators discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen. The suspect, identified as Anderson Prete-Silva, attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended.

Prete-Silva was booked into the Harris County Jail and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (Felony 3) and Failure to Stop and Give Information (Class B). He is awaiting bond in the 337th District Court.
