STOCKTON, CA – A 36-year-old woman was arrested following an attempted kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon involving a child and three other individuals in the Civic District.

According to police, the incident occurred around 7:05 p.m. in the 400 block of West Poplar Street. A 14-year-old male was standing in front of his residence when the suspect, identified as Apolonia Plazola, attempted to lure him into her vehicle. A 45-year-old female confronted the suspect, who then brandished a firearm and attempted to strike the woman with the vehicle.
As Plazola fled the area, she also attempted to strike two additional male victims, ages 12 and 7. All victims were uninjured.
Police initiated a traffic stop, but Plazola failed to yield, resulting in a pursuit. Officers disabled her vehicle and took her into custody.
Plazola was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, attempted kidnapping, child abuse, auto theft, possession of stolen property, and several traffic-related charges.
