Delaware man arrested for DUI after crash injures five, including child

GREENWOOD, DE – Delaware State Police arrested 27-year-old Ivory Brown of Harrington following a single-vehicle crash that left five passengers injured, including a child, late Friday night.

The crash occurred on September 26, 2025, at approximately 11:21 p.m. in the 6500 block of Hickman Road. According to troopers, Brown was driving a Ford Edge that veered off the roadway near Woodbridge Road, entered a ditch, and overturned multiple times.

Two passengers, a 27-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman from Milford, were ejected from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Two other passengers, both 19-year-old men, and a 6-year-old child, sustained minor injuries and were also taken to the hospital.

Troopers reported detecting an odor of alcohol and signs of impairment from Brown at the scene. He refused hospital transport and was taken into custody following field sobriety tests.

Brown was charged with multiple offenses, including:

  • Vehicular Assault First Degree (DUI-related) – 2 counts
  • Vehicular Assault Second Degree (DUI-related) – 3 counts
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child While DUI
  • Driving Under the Influence
  • Driving While Suspended or Revoked
  • Additional traffic violations

He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $10,402 secured bond.
