WINTER HAVEN, FL – The Polk County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred in the early morning hours of September 28 in Winter Haven.
Between 1:39 and 1:41 a.m., an adult female pedestrian was struck by a northbound vehicle in the inside lane of 1st Street North at the intersection with Avenue R NE. The vehicle fled the scene, continuing northbound after the collision.
Deputies are working to identify the driver and are urging anyone with information to contact the Polk County Sheriff’s Office at 863-298-6200 and reference case number 25-38975.
