Aggressor shot during road rage incident on North Freeway entrance ramp

HOUSTON, TX – A man was shot after he became aggressive during a road rage incident on the North Main entrance ramp to the outbound North Freeway late Friday night.

According to the Houston Police Department’s Central Division, the man exited his vehicle around 11:50 p.m., confronted the driver ahead of him for moving too slowly, and began to beat on the car. The second driver gave a verbal warning before displaying a firearm and shooting the aggressor once during the altercation.

The aggressor was treated at the scene and transported by the Houston Fire Department to a local hospital. He remains in stable condition.

Police said the shooter is licensed and cooperative, and no charges have been filed at this time.

The traffic backup that led to the confrontation was due to an active investigation into a fatal auto-pedestrian crash that had occurred earlier on the North Freeway.
