LA PORTE, TX – Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal crash on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in the 1900 block of Independence Parkway South.

According to investigators, a white Ford F-150 was traveling southbound in the number 1 lane of Independence Parkway S. At the same time, a black Ford Taurus was stopped in the number 2 southbound lane. The driver of the Taurus, who has not yet been identified, attempted an unsafe U-turn from the number 2 lane and was struck on the left side by the front of the F-150.

The driver of the Taurus sustained life-threatening injuries and was found to have no signs of life at the scene.

The case remains under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division.
