Man shot and killed after confrontation with bicyclist in Sunnyside

HOUSTON, TX – A man was shot and killed following a confrontation with a bicyclist in the 7900 block of Comal Street in Houston’s Sunnyside neighborhood.

The shooting occurred just before 11 a.m. Wednesday. According to investigators, the man was driving a vehicle when he became involved in a confrontation with another man on a bicycle. During the encounter, the man in the car was shot. He then drove a short distance before crashing into a ditch and a utility pole. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The victim is described as a male in his mid-40s.

The suspect on the bicycle fled the scene and has not been located. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage in the area in hopes of identifying him.
