HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A family dispute turned deadly Wednesday evening in the 13400 block of Ryan Ridge Lane in northeast Harris County, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Division.
Deputies with Harris County Precinct 3 responded to the home around 5:50 p.m. and found a 49-year-old man unresponsive in the roadway with gunshot wounds. EMS pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Investigators said the victim was the 78-year-old man’s stepson. Also present at the home were the stepson’s 80-year-old mother and a 30-year-old male relative.

During the struggle inside the garage, the 78-year-old man allegedly produced a firearm and shot his stepson multiple times. The victim ran into the roadway, where he collapsed and died.
Deputies believe the argument may have started over a door being left open.
