Yucaipa man arrested for the murder of his brother

YUCAIPA, CA – Deputies arrested a 50-year-old Yucaipa man for the murder of his brother following an investigation into a suspicious death.

At approximately 7:20 a.m. on October 31, deputies with the Yucaipa Station responded to a medical aid call in the 12000 block of Sixth Street. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Matthew Ludwig called authorities and reported that his brother, 55-year-old Larry Adams, was not breathing.

Deputies arrived and found Adams deceased in the living room. Due to the circumstances surrounding the death, Ludwig was detained without incident and was also found to have an outstanding felony warrant.

Detectives with the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division Homicide Detail responded to the scene and began their investigation. Detectives identified multiple inconsistencies in Ludwig’s account, and he was arrested for murder and the outstanding warrant.

Ludwig remains in custody at the Central Detention Center.
