Man critically injured in shooting at The Morgan Apartment Homes

HOUSTON, TX – A 22-year-old male was critically injured in a shooting early Sunday morning at The Morgan Apartment Homes in southwest Houston.

The shooting occurred around 1:50 a.m. in the 2400 block of Westridge. According to police, officers arrived to find the victim lying outside after attempting to get help. Officers immediately applied a tourniquet to control the bleeding before Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital.

Police say the victim had reportedly been robbed at gunpoint by several individuals about two hours earlier at the same apartment complex. Investigators believe it is possible that the same suspect or suspects involved in the earlier robbery may be connected to the shooting.

Multiple shell casings of different calibers were recovered at the scene. No suspects are in custody at this time.
