Elderly man shot after being forced to withdraw money at ATM in west Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A 70-year-old man was shot during an armed robbery at a UElderly man shot after being forced to withdraw money at ATM in west HoustonSAA ATM in a Walmart parking lot in west Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.

The incident began around 11:06 p.m. near Westview and the Beltway. Police said the victim was approached by at least one suspect who forced him to withdraw money from the ATM. After obtaining the cash, the suspect shot the man once.

The victim managed to drive away but lost consciousness a short distance later. A tow truck driver passing by found him shot inside his vehicle and called 911. The Houston Fire Department transported the man to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Police said the suspect was wearing a black mask. The Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division is investigating the case.
