HARRIS COUNTY, TX – HCSO Patrol units were dispatched around Sunday afternoon to a animal humane call in the 2400 block of Little York.
Responding units discovered a rooster-fighting operation at the location where several deceased animals were found on scene. Precinct 1 Constable units, Harris County Sheriff’s Office detectives, and SPCA personnel responded to the call.
Multiple suspects were detained, and four individuals are currently in custody. Possible charges include animal cruelty and gambling.
Approximately 70 or more roosters were located, most of them alive.
It is not yet known whether this operation is part of a larger ring. SPCA will handle the live roosters once a warrant is obtained for animal seizure.
