HOUSTON, TX – Around 7 p.m., the Houston Fire Department responded to South Loop East near the Gulf Freeway for a large fire involving an 18-wheeler reportedly carrying sulfuric acid.
According to HFD, the tank has not ruptured, and there are no environmental concerns at this time. HFD HAZMAT is assessing the situation, and motorists are advised to avoid the area due to heavy traffic.
