Driver killed after wrecker crashes into disabled car on Southwest Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – A driver was killed early this morning after a wrecker truck struck a disabled vehicle on the Southwest Freeway at Westpark Drive, near Chimney Rock.

The crash occurred around 2:17 a.m. when a small black Mazda, already disabled on the roadway, was hit and pushed a good distance up the freeway by the wrecker. The Mazda’s driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The wrecker driver was not injured but was shaken up. No charges have been filed at this time.
