Passenger killed after vehicle goes airborne during police chase in southeast Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A passenger was killed after a Dodge Charger crashed during a pursuit involving Harris County Constable Precinct 2 deputies in southeast Houston.

Deputies initially observed the vehicle speeding and driving recklessly on the freeway. When they attempted to stop it, the driver refused to pull over, running multiple red lights before losing control. The vehicle went airborne and crashed into a tree near the 9700 block of Clearwood, close to Almeda Genoa and Blackhawk.

Houston Police Department is leading the investigation. More information will follow if it becomes available.
