Video shows 30-mile chase through Harris County before crash in southeast Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A 19-year-old driver was arrested after leading Harris County Constable Precinct 2 deputies on a high-speed pursuit spanning more than 30 miles before crashing into a home in southeast Houston.

According to Constable Jerry Garcia, the pursuit began when Night Shift deputies observed a vehicle run a red light and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The driver, identified as Jonathan Garcia-Salazar, refused to stop, leading deputies on a 30-minute chase.

The pursuit ended when Garcia-Salazar crashed into an unoccupied parked vehicle and a residence. No one inside the home was injured.

Garcia-Salazar sustained minor cuts and bruises and was treated at the scene. He was charged with evading in a motor vehicle and booked into the Joint Processing Center without incident.
