HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A 14-year-old boy was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle across State Highway 6 in northwest Harris County.
The incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. in the 8600 block of North State Highway 6. According to investigators, a Jeep Wrangler was traveling northbound when the teen attempted to cross the highway from east to west. The vehicle struck the cyclist during the crossing.
The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene and is cooperating with police. Investigators determined the driver was not intoxicated.
The teen’s mother was reportedly with him at the time of the incident. The 14-year-old was transported in critical condition to a nearby hospital via Life Flight.
The investigation is ongoing.
