HOUSTON, TX – A teenage male is in critical condition after being shot inside a home in the 600 block of Granville around 3:30 a.m.
Officers with the Houston Police Department responded to a shooting call and found an approximately 18-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the upper torso.
Police said the suspect is believed to be an ex-boyfriend who arrived at the residence and began firing multiple rounds into the home. Several people were inside the residence at the time of the shooting.
When gunfire began, occupants dropped to the floor, except for the victim, who stood up and was struck. Investigators believe the residence is where the ex-girlfriend lives, though the relationship between the victim and others inside the home is still unclear.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The Houston Police Department Major Assaults Division has been notified and is investigating.
