HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputy was injured after a suspected intoxicated driver crashed into a patrol vehicle.
The crash occurred along the Beltway 8 frontage road at Imperial Valley. According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy was traveling westbound on Beltway 8 with green lights when another vehicle traveling northbound struck the patrol unit.
A witness to the crash provided a statement to investigators.
The deputy suffered minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver of the other vehicle did not show any signs of injury.
After the crash, the other driver was taken into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
