Shooting suspect twerks for the camera while being taken into custody

HOUSTON, TX – A man was shot in the leg during a robbery at an apartment complex in northwest Houston.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. in the 5900 block of Pinemont at the Patriot Forest Apartments.

According to the Houston Police Department, North Patrol officers responded to reports of a male shot in the lower leg. The victim was transported to a hospital and is expected to survive.

Police say the victim was walking along Pinemont in front of the apartment complex when a younger male approached from behind, assaulted him, took a pistol, and shot him with his own weapon.

Witnesses reported seeing the suspect run west toward a nearby gas station. Patrol and Patrol Support Officers located the suspect at a convenience store, where he was found in possession of the victim’s pistol and taken into custody at the scene.
