HOUSTON, TX – Multiple people were shot during a house party in north Houston.
According to the Houston Police Department, the shooting occurred around 9 p.m. in the 7300 block of Parkes Street.
Police say officers with the North Patrol Division responded to multiple calls reporting a shooting and arrived to find a large crowd gathered in the yard of a residence. Officers cleared most of the people from the area as they began their investigation.
About six people were shot. One person is in critical condition, while the others are reported to be in stable condition. Several victims transported themselves to area hospitals.

Officers have one person detained at the station who arrived from the scene. Detectives with the Major Assaults Division will interview that individual.
It is unclear whether there was one shooter or multiple shooters, though police said it appears there may have been more than one involved.
