Man struck and killed by multiple vehicles on I-45 in north Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A man was struck and killed after being hit by multiple vehicles along Interstate 45 in north Harris County.

The incident occurred around 9:03 p.m. in the 12900 block of the North Freeway. The adult male was struck by at least three vehicles and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

All involved drivers stopped following the crash. It is unclear at this time if additional vehicles were involved.

Northbound lanes of I-45 were shut down during the investigation, while southbound lanes remained open. Traffic was diverted at Rankin before re-entering the freeway.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the man appeared to have been attempting to cross the freeway. There is no indication at this time that intoxication or speed were factors.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division is investigating.
