Home being renovated for use as short-term rental ahead of World Cup catches fire

HOUSTON, TX – A house fire broke out at a home in Houston that was reporteldy being renovated for use as a short-term rental ahead of the World Cup.

The fire was reported in the 1800 block of Mills near Elysian, just north of downtown.

A neighbor said the home was undergoing renovations in preparation to be used as a short-term rental for the World Cup.

One firefighter was transported to a hospital, but their condition remains unknown. However, the firefighter walked to the ambulance with assistance.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.
