Woman found deceased during welfare check at north Harris County apartment complex

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A woman was found deceased inside an apartment during a welfare check at The Arden at Cypress Station apartments in north Harris County.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded around 5:30 p.m. to the apartment complex located at 905 Cypress Station after family members reported they had not been able to contact their daughter for several days. Family members reportedly spoke with apartment management before deputies arrived.

According to Sgt. Brown with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Division, management made entry into the apartment, where deputies discovered a deceased female inside.

Sgt. Brown said the woman, who was described as being in her early 20s, appeared to have suffered severe trauma. Investigators stated the exact cause and manner of death will not be known until the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences completes an autopsy.

Deputies said there were no signs of forced entry into the apartment.

Investigators are reviewing surveillance video from inside and outside the complex and speaking with neighbors as the investigation continues.

According to Sgt. Brown, family members had recently been in contact with the woman, and deputies believe she may have been deceased for no more than a couple of days.

Sgt. Brown said investigators are also working to learn more about the woman’s recent activities and relationships. No suspects have been identified at this time.
