HOUSTON, TX – Houston Police Department officers are investigating after an adult male was found deceased in Greens Bayou near Interstate 10 at the East Freeway and Uvalde area in east Houston.

The discovery was reported around 6:34 p.m. after a witness who had gone fishing spotted the body along the edge of the water and called 911.

According to police, the body appeared to have possibly been in the water for several days. Officers said they could not determine the male’s exact age at the scene.

Police also said it was unclear whether the body had floated to the location or if that was where the male originally entered the water. Investigators were unable to determine whether there were signs of trauma because the body was still partially in the water while awaiting recovery by the medical examiner’s office.

The Houston Police Department Homicide Division is investigating.
