HOUSTON, TX – Officers with the Houston Police Department responded to a shooting just before 11 p.m. in front of the American Grocery Store located in the 6500 block of Bellfort in southeast Houston.

When officers arrived, they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper extremities of his body. The Houston Fire Department transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he underwent surgery.
Police said the victim was initially in critical condition but is no longer considered to have life-threatening injuries.
According to the Houston Police Department, the suspect is an adult female who was present at the corner store when some sort of argument took place. Police believe the argument may have turned physical before the shooting occurred.
Officers obtained surveillance video from the location and said they have a good identification of the suspect.
The Houston Police Department is investigating the shooting.
