HOUSTON, TX – Dr. Matthews spoke outside Harris County Court 507 regarding ongoing protective order proceedings involving Judge Curvey and her husband, Derrick.

Standing outside the courtroom, Dr. Matthews said she attempted to attend the hearing as a court watcher but was told she would need to be on a witness list to enter. She questioned why she was not permitted to attend and raised concerns about courtroom access.
Dr. Matthews also criticized a temporary protective order connected to the case. During her remarks, she questioned whether a judge should sign a temporary protective order involving an individual who had previously filed a judicial complaint. She alleged the protective order was improper and stated that an additional judicial complaint would be filed.
Kyle French also addressed the court proceedings in a separate video posted after the hearing. French stated that his name had been placed on the witness list for the proceeding involving Judge Diane Curvey’s husband and a bill of review related to a protective order.
French alleged that he had no personal knowledge of the matters being litigated and said he had not witnessed any alleged family violence or been involved in disputes between the parties. He claimed his inclusion on the witness list prevented him from entering the courtroom because witnesses are generally required to remain outside while testimony is being presented.
During the video, French accused Judge Curvey of abusing her position and improperly involving him in court proceedings. He stated that he intends to pursue additional complaints related to the matter.
