HOUSTON — A man was shot in the leg during a domestic-related confrontation earlier this morning in northeast Houston, while a woman and her brother were later taken in for questioning.

The incident happened around 3:34 a.m. in the 14500 block of Lee Road.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the situation began after a boyfriend and girlfriend attended a party near Highway 290 before leaving together. Relatives at the gathering later contacted the woman’s brother, who caught up with the couple as they traveled home.

Authorities said the vehicle stopped at an intersection on Lee Road, where the boyfriend and the woman’s brother became involved in an altercation.

During the confrontation, a weapon was produced and the boyfriend was shot in the leg.

The victim was transported to Kingwood Hospital for treatment.

Following the shooting, the woman and her brother were taken in for questioning as investigators worked to determine exactly what happened.

Everyone involved is believed to be in their early 20s.

The investigation remains ongoing.
