Residents raise concerns about conditions at Greensboro apartment complex

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A viewer is raising concerns about living conditions at Oaks Gate City Multifamily Apartments, formerly known as Arbor Park, alleging ongoing sewage, plumbing and pest control issues affecting residents at the complex.

The viewer said they have lived at the property for seven years and claim residents have been dealing with numerous maintenance problems despite multiple management changes over the years.

According to the viewer, raw sewage has backed up through plumbing systems, pest control issues remain ongoing and maintenance repairs often fail to resolve underlying problems. The viewer said many residents are elderly, have children or rely on government assistance, making it difficult for them to relocate.

The viewer alleged that some residents are paying more than $1,000 per month in rent while continuing to deal with conditions they believe are unsafe and unsuitable for tenants.

Among the concerns raised were reports of sewage leaking from upper units into lower apartments, ceilings allegedly damaged by recurring plumbing leaks and persistent pest issues. The viewer said maintenance crews have repeatedly patched some areas, but claimed problems continue to return.

The viewer also alleged that one resident’s bathroom sink fell through and that the resident was moved to another apartment, where similar issues reportedly continued.

According to the viewer, some residents were temporarily placed in hotels during previous repair efforts, but not all affected tenants received accommodations for the full duration of the work.

The viewer said new management recently took over the property and inspections were scheduled, though some residents were still waiting for those inspections to occur.

The apartment complex is located in Greensboro, North Carolina, and the viewer said numerous families, children and elderly residents continue to live at the property while dealing with the reported concerns.

Management for Oaks Gate City Multifamily Apartments has not yet responded to the allegations.

Residents with information, photos or similar concerns at the property are encouraged to contact Houston Stringer.
