HOUSTON – A family disturbance between two brothers turned deadly Friday night after an altercation escalated into a fatal shooting in southeast Houston.

Around 8 p.m., Houston police responded to the 2500 block of Craigmont, near Telephone Road, following reports of a disturbance involving two brothers.
According to investigators, the argument escalated into a physical altercation after both brothers produced weapons. Police said there was a struggle over the weapons before one brother was shot outside the home in the street.
The wounded brother died at the scene.
Investigators said several weapons were involved in the incident and detectives are still working to determine who possessed which weapon and at what point during the altercation.
The suspect fled the scene on foot but was later apprehended by responding officers.
Police said both the victim and the suspect are adult Hispanic males. The identities of those involved have not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The investigation remains ongoing.
