HUFFMAN, Texas — A man was killed after a shooting in Huffman on Tuesday evening, and one person has been detained as homicide investigators continue to investigate what led to the gunfire.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Rolling Creek at approximately 7:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.

When deputies arrived, they found a man in his early 40s lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators said the shooting stemmed from a verbal altercation that occurred before the gunfire. It remains unclear what the argument was about.

One person has been detained and is cooperating with investigators.
