HOUSTON — A man was killed early Sunday morning after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a parked 18-wheeler and caught fire on Dorsett in northeast Houston.

According to the Houston Police Department, the crash occurred around 3:32 a.m. on Dorsett near Pillot Street.

Investigators said the vehicle was traveling northbound on Dorsett when it struck a parked 18-wheeler. After the collision, the vehicle traveled into a grassy area next to a fence, where it caught fire.

The driver, who was the vehicle’s only occupant, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at 3:41 a.m.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
