HOUSTON – An 18-year-old man was found fatally shot outside an apartment complex in north Houston on Saturday night, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around 8 p.m. to the Hacienda Bonita Apartments in the 14400 block of Ella Boulevard after reports of a shooting.

When deputies arrived, they found an approximately 18-year-old man unresponsive with a gunshot wound lying next to a vehicle in the entryway of the apartment complex. EMS responded to the scene and pronounced him deceased.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, there were no reports of an argument before the shooting. Neighbors reported hearing a single gunshot.

Homicide detectives remained at the scene canvassing the area for witnesses and speaking with individuals believed to be relatives of the victim.

The shooter has not been identified or taken into custody. Investigators have not determined whether the gunshot was self-inflicted or caused by another person.

The investigation remains ongoing.
