HOUSTON — A teen was struck by a train around 8 p.m. in the 7600 block of North Main Street.

The teen was traveling southbound and attempted to cross the railroad tracks before the train arrived. The train engineer saw him crossing directly in front of the train and attempted to stop.

The teen was accompanied by his cousin and a girl, who witnessed the incident and provided information to police. No one else was struck, and the teen’s family was notified.

Houston police homicide investigators and Union Pacific authorities are investigating.
