HOUSTON, TX — Police are searching for a driver who fled on foot, leaving a male passenger deceased inside a crashed vehicle following a Galena Park police pursuit.

According to the Houston Police Department, a Galena Park police officer attempted to stop a speeding gray sedan on Clinton Drive shortly after 3 a.m. The driver accelerated, beginning a pursuit.

The officer briefly lost sight of the vehicle before finding it crashed near Harbor Street in the 7200 block of Clinton Drive.

The passenger, believed to be in his late teens or early 20s, was found deceased in the passenger seat. Evidence at the scene indicated he was not driving the vehicle.

Investigators have developed preliminary leads and are reviewing Flock camera information to identify the driver.
