HOUSTON, TX – A man in his 50s was fatally shot during an argument at the HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof at 5959 Guhn Road last night.

Houston police said the man exchanged words with two men around his age as they walked past him on the top-floor hallway and prepared to leave. One of the men fired at least two shots, striking the victim multiple times in the torso.

The victim collapsed near the doorway of his hotel room and was pronounced deceased. He was living at the hotel with family members.

Both men ran from the hotel after the shooting. Tactical officers searched the area but did not locate them.

No weapons were recovered. Police initially believed the men might still be at the hotel but later said that appeared unlikely.

The victim and the two men being sought were described as Black.
