HOUSTON, TX – A man was undergoing surgery after he was shot in the stomach inside his bedroom at the Alegria Apartments around 9:30 p.m.

Police say officers responded to the complex in the 2400 block of South Loop West after two women who live with the man called 911. Neither woman witnessed the shooting, and the victim provided little information about what happened.

The suspect left before officers arrived, and no description was available. Officers were searching for surveillance video and additional witnesses.
